Phase 2 of HealtheAthlete Study

Posted by LSW Boys Soccer at Jun 10, 2016 11:16AM PDT

We will begin phase 2 of the HealtheAthlete study on June 13 at the LSN PAC at 7:00 for the Town Hall meeting. The town hall meeting is an informational meeting about the study for parents. Attendance is optional, but it is a great start for understanding the scope of the study as well as sign off on the parent agreement/release.

On Wednesday June 15th, we will be testing LSWHS athletes. Our soccer players are encouraged to arrive following conditioning between 7:50 AM and 8:45 AM on the LSWHS mezzanine.

Last year, the testing gathered baseline data only. THIS year, the study will take the results of testing and begin working with those athletes deemed to have significant weakness that would likely cause injury, to attempt to strengthen and reduce injury!! We are just getting to the exciting part of the study and our goal is to reduce injury by 10%.

All athletes must have the parent/guardian release signed before they will be allowed to test. This is a great opportunity to help our players with injury prevention. Please plan on attending.
